Your notebooks

Notebooks you open are read and converted entirely inside your browser. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. The PDF is created on your device.

Data stored on your device

• Settings (paper size, layout, your name for the title, and so on) are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are remembered next time.
• Recent notebooks are saved in your browser (IndexedDB) so you can reopen them. You can clear this list or turn it off on the home page.
• An offline copy of the website is saved by your browser so it works without internet.

This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Requests to other websites

• Open from link: if you paste a link, your browser downloads that notebook directly from the site you linked (for example GitHub).
• Plotly charts: if a notebook contains an interactive Plotly chart without a saved image, the Plotly library is downloaded from cdn.jsdelivr.net to draw it.
